Subject:How to load DLS instruments into Acid Pro 7?

I bought acid Pro 7, and realized that it came with all this great extra stuff. The thing which interested me the most was probably the metric ton of DLS instruments in the bonus content folder. I use an M-Audio axiom 49, and I wanted to be able to use them instead of the Sony DLS synth that came preloaded with the program.
However, I have no idea how to load them into Acid Pro 7 to be used with midi. I figured I could just put them into the plugins folder with the Sony DLS synth, but I have no idea how to find the plugins folder on my hard drive (I think it might be contained within the program), or if this would even change anything.
If anyone can help me with this, it would be greatly appreciated.

Forget DLS; VSTis are where it's at. :D

If you bought and properly registered ACID Pro 7, you should have all the extra VSTis available under "My Account > My Software" at the top right of this page. Click the "Download" link next to your registration of ACID Pro 7.

Once the VSTi (like KitCore or ARIA for ACID Pro) is installed, it's a matter of setting up your Axiom to work with that VSTi. The quick and dirty way to do this is to make sure your Axiom is enabled (Options > Preferences > MIDI on the menu bar; check the box for MIDI input for your Axiom).

Enable the Plug-In Manager (Ctrl + Alt +1 is the shortcut), browse to the "Soft Synths" folder and then "All". Drag a soft synth (like KitCore) to the track list. You should then be in business at that point. Try pressing a key on your Axiom to verify.

Okay, I took your advice and tried to use the VSTis, which actually came in a folder with the program. I installed (or at least tried to) both Aria and Kitcore, and everything went pretty smoothly. However, there's a single and very frustrating problem: It's not installing the actual program itself. Either that or I just can't find it.
I get the folder marked kitcore/aria, along with all the little ad-ons and extras that come with it., but the program itself is nowhere to be found.

I am a derp.

In a rush, I forgot to tell you that you must point ACID to the folder (or folders) where the VSTi DLLs are installed. (This is done via the "Configure VST" button in the upper right corner of the Plug-In Manager window. Click the "Add" button and then "Scan.")

If you don't remember where the DLLs are, I know KitCore's is, "KitCore.dll." I can't remember offhand what the DLL for ARIA for ACID Pro was. (I use Personal Orchestra 4 myself, which is ARIA for ACID Pro's big brother.)

When you run ACID after installing these,it should just find them. There is nothing you should need to do. There are no separate apps to run.

These plugins should show up in the plugin manager in the VST Instruments folders.

Have a look at Chapter 8 in the ACID User Manual. It covers all things related to the plugin manager.

WRT the DLS files.

DLS are sample sets that can be loaded into the DLS synth that ACID provides. Add an instance of the DLS synth, there is a load button that will allow you to locate the sample sets we provide. The help files cover this also.

Thanks for the advice, it was helpful. But I'm still having troubles.
So I opened up Acid and Kitcore was right there, just like you said. Aria was still nowhere to be found.
I opened up kitcore, and got the registration dialogue, into which I put my name and serial number. Then it popped up with an error message telling me I that the registration code was invalid...
*Update
I was able to load Aria too. Trying to register it now.
**DOUBLE UPDATE
Aria's working now, and I filed a complaint to the customer service desk, so hopefully they'll get back to me on that soon.

Thanks to your help I'm now able to use all those DLS voices and I also have Aria running (Though I still have to figure out how to use it...). I'm still having a problem with an invalid serial number for Kitcore, but there's not really much I can do about that now.

ARIA for ACID Pro is an orchestral/concert band plug-in. If I recall, there were a handful of instruments available so you could, e.g., quickly set up a full string ensemble (violins 1 & 2, violas, cellos and basses).

If you go to the "download" link for ACID Pro 7 under "My Account > My Software" at the top, there should be a manual available.
