Subtitles bug still not resolved

Hello all,

I'm referring to this old post :
http://www.sonycreativesoftware.com/Forums/ShowMessage.asp?Forum=22&MessageID=828786

As Smithee says "after a subtitle is supposed to end, it stays on the screen until the next one replaces it". I have identified this bug on different Blu-Ray players (Oppo, Sony, LG...). I can't find any fix around. This is very annoying when you make something like 1000 copies of the DVD because it makes a hudge quantity of people getting the bug finally (more and more people has got Blu-Ray players now).

Any help appreciated.

Never noticed that on my "old" Sony BD player.

Would putting a very short blank caption at the end solve it?

This might do the trick. A bit complicated when you have something like 1000 subtitles inserts, to make them manually but... it's better than nothing.

I'll try this and let you know.

Thanks !

First try, bad news. DVD-A will fail when importing empty subtitles. Instead of making an empty subtitle, it displays the timecode :\ I've tried putting a "space" or a ALT-255 ASCII code. No luck either.

Making empty subtitles on DVD-A timeline *after* importation would be a nightmare.

I've spent the whole day to test again and again...

So :

1/ Your trick only works if the empty subtitle is pasted directly on the previous one. No space between both. And with the minimum duration for the empty subtitle : 100 ms.

2/ It must be done manually on DVD-A timeline, step by step, insert by insert. That's why it'd take so much time :(

I'm sure it can be fixed by PGCedit but we would need a hardcore developper to find the solution. Of course, i won't expect any patch by SCS which keeps DVD-A being an abandonware.

Thanks again for your help.
