What happened to being able to apply the plug-in chain directly from the dockable Plug-in Chain window? I now have to go to FX Favorites, select Apply Plug-in Chain, which then opens another window (which is undockable), then click Ok which was formerly done with the click of a button? Yikes!

Also, how come there are still no icons and customizable keyboard commands for the iZotope plug-ins?

You save to apply the plug-in chain.

Using the Apply Plug-In Chain window is like using any of the other effects and processes now; everything is practically modeless.

Thanks for the response. So you're saying it's no longer possible to apply a preset from the plug-in chain window?

Not from the Plug-in Chain view (the dockable per-file tool).

Note that, once you select and apply FX Favorites->Apply Plug-In Chain, the same repeatable tricks apply.

That is, you can Edit->Repeat (Ctrl+Y) with the same settings on any selection until you do some other repeatable operation.

You can also hold down Shift while selecting pretty much any menu item (including Apply Plug-In Chain) to skip the UI and just apply the previous settings to the current selection.

That means you can now apply the same last-used chain to selections in other files without loading up a chain preset or batch converter.

Addendum: I just realized you can also use this method to apply the same chain to multiple events (in event mode). Not quite the same as event fx, but fits the editor paradigm.

I absolutely agree. an example: I work on dialog clip files that have over 400 3 second clips in them. I use the FX chain to volume level them in context. I highlight a region and apply the FX chain over and over (sometimes undoing) till I get the desired result.

I do not want to save the file each time just to apply the current chain.

I have reverted to sf10 as I consider sf11 unusable for my purposes. If this is not fixed I will have to find something else moving forward. This is sad as I am an Acid, Vegas, Sound Forge shop but this is a deal breaker.

I have a similar workflow to David (with musical one-shot samples rather than dialogue), and the change in SF11 has unfortunately deterred me from upgrading.

Sony, please consider offering a preferences checkbox to toggle between the old and new plugin chain behaviour.

- Yes, that would be nice... if it's possible.
