I am not a sound guy, but I have to do this one thing...How can I make a cool voice? Example: the deep voice from all the movie trailers.

Try close mic'ing with a large diaphragm mic. Use EQ until it sounds like what you want. Remember also that the people doing this are professionals and have trained their voices over a period of time (look up Ken Nordine for example).

If you yourself are doing the recording, I find that my voice is relaxed more when I first wake up and thus sounds more "basso profundo".
