I was working on mastering an audio file when I decided to go back to my mix and add some new tracks which extended the final output by a few seconds. Rather than start working with a new file I thought I could just overwrite the audio file in the project folder and everything would be fine. I had already a lot of automation to my project and did not want to start over again. The problem is that now I cannot edit or play any audio beyond the length of the original audio file. The track display shows that the audio is there but the region at the end is grayed out and off limits. How can I bring my new audio into my project so that I can work with the whole track and still have my automation? |

It sounds like you selected the Edit in Audio Editor option from Vegas/Movie Studio. When you do that, if the video or audio file is trimmed or is an event on your timeline, the only segment of the file you will edit will be the "live" or trimmed region of the clip. To edit the entire clip, manually open the file from Sound Forge. |
