Subject:AP7 using 32bitXPpro and VSTmade 2007-EMU0404

Using everything from 2002-2007 as VST's in updated acidPro3 to 7. Hardware all new 2.3ghz quad AMD w/4 gigram, a terabit harddrive .

Just using simple loops on my PCI-EMU 0404 and all the current upgrades for ASIO, M-Audio 4x4 MIDI on one keyboard for syths and 1/4" stereo L/R in to the card, and back out on 1/4" in/out..
Nothing fancy (6-9) tracks avg with .03-.10 latency. Doing a 3 track (1min) loop. LOCKUP.
Each time I open a project I must tell Acid to reinitialize the ASIO EMU driver to get the right names to the buses ect. Easy. screen is running 1024x768 on a 2gig video card.
Ran fine on Pro v5 skipped Acid Pro 6 and straight to AP7 on XPPro 32bit.. What the H__LL is wrong with such a once stable program? I do not even try VST's even the ones that came with it! Why bother. What the heck is everyone now using that got away from Sony ACID? Firewire is dead SDIF is one, USB another, is everyone just getting rid of DWS PCI cards....what replaces it? USB interface boxes? AHH!

I read your statement I was curious to see you use the EMU card. I am a strong fan of the EMU product. I would say that if you wanted to get best results to use the other drivers (Microsoft mapper or Direct..you know...,), But I am using the EMU ASIO driver and I use VST's as well <I have only a problem running Pro 7, Emulator x3 or Proteus VX as VST when trying to load/boot up previous files?>.
I had a long standing problem with the EMU system when win 7 drivers were used, but your using XP,, PCI...
If your PatchMix is set to have ASIO channels and a Wave 1/2 channel together you should be OK. Do you get a read out when using the channel meter insert while the tracks are playing? be sure your PatchMix is set proper. no feedback loops.
Having a lockup.. Idunno.
