Subject:Help with recording In Sound Forge 5.0

I am using a PC with a motu828 fiewire interface. My drivers are installed correct and the motu is the perferd device in both windows and Sound Forge. I get sound into and out of my PC, but I can not get levels in Sound Forge. If I hit record, nothing will record. Can someone help me please
