I have experienced renders getting clipped on occasion, but can't ascribe any particular cause or circumstance. One time, I simply added a few seconds of generated black at the tail, but that would upset your 30s need. Are you splitting the source to yield a 30s clip, or are you simply making a selection within the 45s clip? Which ever one you're doing... give the other way a try? |

I did this for years with Premiere and Vegas for the station I used to work at (Vegas's scripting sped things up considerably, plus it rendered about 2x faster then Premiere did at the time). I'm going out on a limb here and suggesting it's your source format. I don't trust Quicktime and avoid it if I can. Not because of Apple (not a fan) but because it's an external codec/container. It's alien to Windows, just like to h264. If possible, try getting the source in a different format. when I use Quicktime I try to use the PNG codec, I've never had issues with that. I've never noticed Vegas to clip randomly when rendering though. I'm using 10 but never saw it in version 3, 4, 6 or 8 either. |

Can you upload a clip somewhere? Maybe it only has this issue on Vegas 12. |
