Subject:24 Bit recording fails

I have tried this on multiple computers and different 24 bit sound cards.

If I enable recording at 24bits, the signal ends up being just some loud noise which gets louder over time. The same machines using different software will reocrd 24bits just fine.

It happens in Vegas too.

Hello,

The Vegas work ok, the 24/96 kHz recording bug (I don't have noise but the recording meters is flashing to over all the time) is a classic bug of the Sound Forge, I'm still waithing for a solution since the first release of the 5.

Bye

My current work-around is to use Nuendo (Uses VST engine) to do the recording and then process the files in Sound Forge.

I don't know why, you can't record at 24bit. I record @ 44/24 as my default rate all the time in both SF 5.0
and Vegas with no problems. I even just tried 96K, and it worked also. I am using a Delta 66 with the latest WDM(5.12.1.26) drivers. I have found that when I go from SONAR to SF apps, I tend to increase the "DMA Buffer Size" in the Delta control panel from its lowest setting of 64 samples to 256 or more to avoid popping/crackling in the audio. The SF apps do not need the extreme low latency settings that SONAR uses for its DXi/VSTi realtime input.
