i am having trouble importing avi's rendered by vegas into director. what i have been doing is editing in vegas, rendering to an avi, importing the rendered avi into premiere, rerendering, and it imports fine. i also am having trouble importing into microsoft powerpoint. havent tried anything from premiere yet. has anyone else had expirience with this? is there something different with the algorithm that vegas used to render that could be causing this?

i might add that i have tried many different codecs, frame rates, and various settings. tried making them the same as premiere as well.

Powerpoint's embeded player doesn't support it's own Microsoft codec (that we used to use in VV 2.0). You can use an older codec (Cinepak), however rendering time is outrageous. If you choose this, be sure to uncheck the 'Create an OpenDML compatible file' as Powerpoint doesn't know what to do with this either. I suspect this may be the problem with Director as well.

If usually render to wmv (3Mbps) for my Powerpoint movies.
