Subject:Vinyl Restoration resulting in clipped audio levels

I've recorded many LPs into Forge which are all close to but do not exceed 0.0 dB. After running the general Vinyl Restoration program to remove unwanted pops, the level of the source material has changed and the material now clips/exceed 0.0 dB. Has anybody experienced this and know why Forge seems to "normalize" the processed WAV?

P.S. This effect happens with both the 4.5 standalone plug-in and the 5.0 DX plug in.

I have no experience with the Vinly Restoration, but with click and crackle removal, every freakin time the 'Remove low frequency rumble' is checked, the file ends up clipping. This has been explained to me by S.F. in a related support question (related to the EQ's similar 'Remove low frequency rumble' setting.) Even if it somehow makes sense that by lowering the amplitude of one frequency it sends other frequencies through the clipping roof, so to speak, I find it a P.I.T.A. after having worked to get the range where I want it, then have it skewed by a filter designed to remove low rumble. I checked to see if Vinyl Restoration has such a setting and it doesn't, so this may not be related at all. But some of the other settings (attenuation, for example) might be causing the clipping. Hope this helps.

When removing the noise you improve the dynamic range so your peaks will seem higher.

If you are using SF 5.x jusy convert the bit-depth to IEEE 32-bit float before working on your files. That way you won't clip. Then, when you're done, normalize to about 98% and dither back to 16-bit. You will also have a better sounding file.
