File in Vegas causing Extra Fan Work

I have created over 300 1/2 hour broadcast over 5 years and have noticed that my fan starts working harder when I start inserting video clips. I use many video clips and wonder if there is a way to tell if a CERTAIN video clip (perhaps length or type) is causing this. If I can know then I can re-render that file to be smaller.

Your computer is using CPU cycles to decode the video. That's all. And it's way more than bitrate or file size. Threshing through various flavors of b-frames is a huge chore.
