hi i made a drum map using the drum map editor, named it, i didn't name the device and left the numbers? set to '0', added all the keys i wanted, renamed the keys numbers and saved it as xml file into the templates/drum maps folder, then inserted a midi track, pressed 'g' to turn on the inline editor, then pressed the button that say 'piano 1' that has a picture of a little keyboard next to it, that i assume is called the program button so i could choose which drum kit i could use, but it isn't showing my created drum kit, it only has the default drum kits listed, ive tried changing the midi channel to '10' but still it dosent show my drum kit. what should i try? acid pro 7. thx

Did you try opening the XML file in the Drum Map Editor? (Program button > Drum Maps > Edit Drum Maps)

Try this:

Open Plug-In Manager if you haven't already. (Ctrl + Alt +1 is the shortcut.)

Assuming you have a 3rd-party soft synth installed (like KitCore, which comes with ACID Pro 7), drag a desired soft synth to the track list, then try what I suggested before.

that worked, the map opened on the inline editor it recorded but the sounds didnt soundoff, i went thru the default drum kits (gm2) and tried them and found some keys did play sound and some didnt and some others werent the sound it said it was

Things to check:

-Ensure that you have the right keys/notes assigned. Click the cells in the drum grid on the timeline. Clicking the rightmost part of the cell will produce a louder sound; the leftmost part the softest.

-If using a MIDI controller, make sure everything's routed and set up properly. (e.g., Do you have the right profile loaded? Correct MIDI channels to transmit on?)

-Sometimes, ACID kind of goes freaky and will stop producing sounds from a soft synth. The quick way to remedy this is to close and re-open your project. (Ctrl + F4 is the keyboard shortcut to close a project quickly.)

A drum map is a tool used to map an existing sound set available in a soft synth. It provides a way to map what a synth plays on a specific note to a name. It does not allow you to remap a sound to a specific key,

The utility of this is that when you are editing a drum track in ACID you will see the sound name associated to a particular drum grid. Instead of having to know that a snare is on d6, you will see "snare" on the inline editor.
