HELP! I have ordered Acid 3.0 but for the moment I am using Acid 2.0 [Build 40]. Program is working great for laying down tracks, but I can't figure out how to burn a CD ---> problem is that this version of Acid 2.0 has no "create CD" button, and every CD burner software that I have tried does not recognize the format which Acid records in. The manual does not even mention the idea of burning a CD, and I have written an e-mail to tech support, meanwhile I am desperate to figure this out so that I can finish a birthday present. Help will be much appreciated. Thanks! |

Update: In yet another lame attempt to find some way to burn my mix onto a CD, I tried to upload a mix [i.e. publish] onto the Acid Planet website [thinkingt that if I could upload, I could subsuently download from the website [duh] --->I got the following prompt: "This file is not in a format we accept. You can only upload windows media, real media, and MP3 files. That means your file must have a .wma, .wmv, .asf, .ra, or .mp3 extension. You cannot upload a .wav or .acd file. ...so, question is, how do I convert the .acd files into one of the formats that will be read by me CD burning software programs and by AcidPlanet? Thanks for any help you can offer... |

You need to Render your project to an output file. For CD burning, use .WAV files. They should default to 16 bit, 44.1KHz, which is the best choice for CDs. If you are going to send your files over the 'net to other people then use .MP3 instead. Also, most modern CD burning software will accept MP3 files for audio discs, but they quality might not be quite as good as using a .WAV file. |

Thanks for the reply, please explain how to "render project to an output file. As you know, Acid 2.0 formats into an .acd format, how do I render this to an output file and change the format to a .WAV? None of my CD burning software will even recognize the .acd format [nothing comes up in the window -- i.e. I can't even access the files.] Thanks a million for your help. Jeff |

Just save it as a .wav file... It's in the 'save as' menu. It's not referred to as 'render as' until Acid 3.0, as memory serves. I don't have 2.0 in front of me at the moment... The .acd files themselves don't contain sound information, if I'm not mistaken-- they are just a list of instructions for Acid to use when it's open. |
