Subject:Configuring the A&H ZED R-16 As A MIDI Controller

Thought I'd share this even though Acid seems to be dying on the vine.

If anyone is trying to get the Allen & Heath ZED R-16 fire wire board to be a MIDI controller for AcidPro 7, the documents below should help. The PDF is a step by step guide to making this work and the XML file is the control mapping file generated as a result of going thru the procedure. A&H claimed that it tested the R-16 with AP6 but didn't give any details on how to configure the two to operate together. I was finally able to get my R-16 and AP7 to work together and developed the docs below for anyone else trying to do the same.

Disclaimer:

I'm not an employee of Allen & Heath or Sony. I did this as an exercise for myself and now offer it freely to anyone else who has AP7 and a ZED R-16. This procedure worked on my system, however, I cannot guarantee it will work on yours nor can I provide support to you if it doesn't.

Best of luck and cheers.
