Yes. ACID is NOT a stable host for modern VSTi's and plugins. Especially if you are running a 64 bit OS and have updated most of your other software and plugins. You will continue to get crashes. In fact, I "downgraded" to ACID Studio from Pro 7 just to try and finish a project I have going on that will be my LAST I ever do in ACID because the studio version is more stable than the Pro version in Win 7 (64 bit) - Sony has really come at this thing all backwards.

Truth? Full update to 64-bit engine and total REX support on the timeline, and maybe some MIDI enhancements and that would be enough to bring ACID into the PRESENT, but they have decided to abandon ACID. It's time we abandon it as well - you can't get anything DONE with it any more!

In a full day of usage I often get a crash or two. I've just been recording audio when it happens, and usually seems to be right when I try to undo an audio record, or just hit stop from recording. I save alot to be careful.

I just quit using some of the VSTs because tinkering with them seems to cause much more trouble than they're worth for what I'm doing. I only throw an occasional Sony Track comp on, or use Density MKIII on the master when I'm done. Those seem to work OK so I stick with that and don't experiment much. Be sure to save before you try to add any VST you're not very sure about.
