Subject:Why is SF so slow in opening files?

Hi eceryone, This is something that bugged me for a long time. Not only is the processing time on long wavs extreme, but the time just to load a file that is a few minutes long and " build peaks" is really excessive me thinks. Especially after I had a look at Wavelab, where every operation is instant and is applied in its sum only at the end when you save. It seems that 5 is even slower than 4.5. Did that never bother anyone? |

This topic has been discussed in this forum many times. You can probably do a search and find more info on this in past posts. It has to do with, that sound forge writes to a temp file everytime you perform a function and this is also the file which constantly get's saved when your PC crashes and you're able to recover your file if you didn't save yet. Vegas does not have this type of editing and everything happens instantaneously like in Wavelab. |
