Subject:ACID PRO 3 DON'T OPEN AFTER INSTALLING FAMILY XP

TO WHOM IT MAY BE ANSWERED,
I JUST UPGRADED FROM WINDOWS ME TO FAMILY XP. ALL THE PROGRAMS I HAVE IN MY SYSTEM MADE THE JUMP JUST FINE. ONLY MY COPY OF ACID PRO 3 HAS FAILED TO MIGRATE PROPERLY. ACID PRO 3 WILL NOT OPEN AND GIVES 1 OF 2 ERROR MESSAGES.

-----
ERROR STARTING PROGRAM

The ACID.EXE file is linked to missing export SFCDI.DLL:?SfCdi_Initialize@@YGJPAUHINSTANCE_@@KPADK@Z

AND/OR:

"X"
C:\Program Files\Sonic Foundry\ACID 3.0\acid.exe
A device attached to the system is not functioning.
----
I had a MOTU MIDI connector in my machine but have not used it in a long time. Aside from that, I do not have any specific hardware devices that I use with ACID PRO 3. Can someone please help me to fix this problem? Or at least point me in the direction of someone who can. Thanks.

Blessings,
Mookie2640 (Damon)

How about trying to reinstall Acid 3.0? That could do the trick!

It sounds like you might just need to recreate the shotcut. You could either uninstall and then reinstall the program, or you could delete the shortcut and create a new one from Acid.exe in your program files folder.

I'm having the same problem today after months of using Acid 3.0 Did you ever come up with an answer to your problem? Also Sound Forge 5.0 did the same thing today as well. Now I can't use either program. Can anyone help?

Hello,

I,m running all Sonic Foundry programs on Home Edition XP, and I can open and play every program just fine, It has to be something else. Please list system config so we can try to help solve your problems, or call SF help support at 1-800-57SONIC

Thanks, Rockit
