Subject:Kontakt 4 won't load Posted by: rumun Date:6/27/2013 2:57:35 PM Hi, I have successfully been using Kontakt 4 (and all of Komplete 7) in Acid Pro 7 for around 4 months on Windows 8 pro 64 bit. Today, Acid crashed and ever since whenever I try to load Kontakt I just get a DLS Soft Synth inserted instead. Kontakt works fine in standalone, and also works in Reaper which I downloaded the trial of to test Kontakt in another sequencer. The rest of Komplete (Battery, Absynth, Reaktor etc) all work absolutely fine still. It is the 32 bit version of Kontakt I am trying to load. I have reinstalled Acid, tried the "force rebuild" on plugins, and deleted the "acidpro.plugincache" file. Nothing has fixed my issue. Does anyone have any similar experience and/or suggestion as to how I may fix this? Thank you.
Subject:RE: Kontakt 4 won't load Reply by: b.complex Date:6/30/2013 5:03:59 PM ACID Pro is NOT A STABLE HOST for KONTAKT. Have you recently updated KONTAKT? I had a similar experience. Just about any other host is going to be better at this point.

In the end, a system restore fixed this problem. Funnily enough, just had a similar problem with Sound Forge 10 after it crashed: When opened again, kept asking me to register. Clicking "next" would just close the window, not taking me to the registration page. Turns out I have to now run all my Sony products in admin mode or Noise reduction 2.0 thinks it's not registered...

ACID Pro is NOT A STABLE HOST for KONTAKT. Have you recently updated KONTAKT? I had a similar experience. Just about any other host is going to be better at this point.
