Hello all, I am editing a podcast and they had some mic problems and it resulted in about a 15 second long stretch where this super high frequency noise appeared. It seems to be woven pretty deep into the talking portion. I have tried using the noise removal tool and on preview it had no effect and even after applying it still had no effect. I then tried using a noise gate and that did not help either. Any ideas? I am by no means an audio expert I am merely doing this as a hobby and starting out so I am no familiar with all the plug ins sound forge has available.

Thank you,
Lilrex

Upload it somewhere and let us have a listen.
Noise removal and noise gate will not have any effect.

I concur with MV.
For a narrow band oscillation, the usual go-to tool would be a notch filter...but without actually hearing it.. we can't positively recommend anything.

I'm thinking a notch filter too. I'd say use SpectraLayers Pro but that has a huge learning curve (but worth it for this kind of work).

If it's "super high", and the podcast is vocal, any EQ function should work. Probably dropping everything above the main vocal range should knock it down. Try rolling off sharply above 3K.

Judging from the OP's admitted lack of knowledge and experience, "high pitched" could mean almost anything, and does not in itself indicate an awareness or sense of relative pitch. Let's all wait until we get the file, as rraud suggests. Speculation is futile.
