Subject:live recording lag

When I'm recording through a microphone, the first take is usually on or near synch with the timeline, but grows increasing behind the timeline with each successive take, until I close and re-open Music Studio. Can I solve this?

I know that, in ACID Pro 7, there's an option to automatically detect and offset hardware recording latency via Options > Preferences > Audio Device. Don't know if it's in Music Studio though.

It has that feature but it doesn't seem to automatically detect or correct anything. However, if I flip back and forth from auto to user correction, it acts the same as opening and closing the program (but not quite as time consuming), which brings the recording up to or near speed. Thank you. Any other ideas?

Looking at the audio interface's drivers would be my next option.

You would preferably use the ASIO driver model if possible.
