Subject:Can't See Cursor Line In Playback?

Hello everyone, feel like an idiot for posting this question. FTR, I have been using SF since version 4. Just upgraded to 10 from v8. Why am I not seeing the cursor line move when I playback a wav? I see it when the wav isn't playing but the minute I hit the spacebar the wav plays but the cursor line is gone? How do I turn it on to see it moving over the wav file as the wav plays? Checked the manual, looked on-line, went to my old versions of SF and they all show the cursor line moving across an active wav file why can't I see it in v10? Thanks

Sounds more like a video card issue to me. Try allocating more RAM to video in BIOS.

I have the same issue with Windows 7 64 bit. I'm using a GeForce GTX 550 Ti card with driver v310.70 314.22. I think it's a problem with Sound Forge.

What sort of audio hardware & driver model are you using?

I think this is a sound card/driver issue, because I have a Digidesign Factory 003, and it doesn't play nicely with SoundForge. No playback cursor.

Try the Asio4ALL driver with SoundForge. The playback cursor now functions properly for me.

That's a known issue with Digi hardware.

Avid made a change to their ASIO drivers with the release of PT 8.04cs2 which caused both the playhead to vanish and the meters to stop working.

They'd released beta drivers which fixed the problem, but never actually ported the fix into their release builds. I'd contact Avid and ask them to fix this bug.

I have this same issue running SF10 on Windows 7 with a digi Mbox 2. I have updated SF10 and all drivers for Mbox are current as I can find. I am running Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-3930K CPU @ 3.20GHz (12 CPUs), ~3.2GHz
Memory: 49152MB RAM
Video card name: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 680

I had everything running smooth with SF9 on my XP system. Not sure what changed with Windows 7.
