Acid supports DirectX plug ins, if you want to use VST plug ins you must use a "wrapper" a little program which "tricks" Acid into thinking the VST plug is in DirectX |

You can already use direct X plugins. Go to www.fxpansion.com for a "vst wrapper". Best one out there. You'll be able to use both DX+VST plugins now. Why would you be bothering with acid if you have sonar already? Dude read the manual and spend some time experimenting with acid. I can't see how even "by accident" that you didn't stumble on the button.Later. |

Get rid of Sonar?!? You obviously dont know what your throwing away...all programs take time, Sonar is a complete studio, Acid is a bad ass looping tool, you can do alot with just the two softwares. If your really in a hurry I recommend you check out Play Stations instant music maker game, you know the one with dj skribble...that will get you makin music in no time!!! |

Im not happy with Sonars loop rendering. Ive created several loops in Fruity and taken the wave to both Sonar and Acid. Acid renders better. Trust me, ive done all i think i can with Sonar. Ive used Cakewalk from 3.0 on. Maybe in sonar 2.0 it will come together, but right now Acid works better for what im doing. Id like to use the DXI synths and some VST synths with Acid keeping most my project in one environment for overall editing. I didnt get a manual with Acid as i opted for the download version. There is no F1 help for me. Thanks |

Before you throw away SONAR(talk about throwing out the proverbial, baby with the bathwater)donate it to someone who can truly use and appreciate it. I use it all the time as my main all-around digital audio sequencer to lay down my basic tracks and ideas. I do most of my editing and pre-mastering in Sound Forge 5.0. If I am strictly using loops as a starting point for a project, I will use ACID 3.0. I may enventually import these into SONAR for further development. Finally, I will use Vegas Video 3.0 to do multi-track mixdowns and for setting up my tracks, like I used to do in CD Architect, and do a DAO burn to my CDRW. As you can see, I use all of the aforementioned programs, depending on the task at hand, to get my work done. This kind of flexiblity gives you a multitude of creative options to explore and exploit. You see, you can have your Cake and eat it too! ;) Billy Buck |

uhh. if you have a loop you made in fruity or whatever and import it into other programs, it should sound exactly the same. sonar doesn't do its rendering any differently than acid - in fact, with unity gain on all the levels, your output sample would be the exact same as the original loop! double check your settings. that being said... acid doesn't support DxI or vst synths like you are saying you want..so i'm confused about what you're really looking for?? acid 3 is cool... it is a great tool for arranging loops out quickly, of course. |
