Subject:new/updated codecs

Hi, I was wondering if it is possible to use a different MP3 codec than the one included in SF5, and how I would go about replacing it. If not replace, then how to add a new codec... Also, along the same vein, how to update a codec (say Ogg for example) with a newer version. Thanks in advance.
