Is it possible to install it on two computers but only use it on one at a time? I want to record on one and edit on another. The software would only be running on one computer at a time. Would such usage be consistent with the license? Thanks.

I have an old decrepit laptop connected to the stereo that has my old cassette tape deck and turntable. I have Sound Forge installed on it so that i can transfer old tapes and records to digital. However, while i don't mind dedicating that old laptop to that task, it's a beast to use for anything else. I copy the recorded .wav files from there over the network to my workstation where i can then do all the editing, encoding, CD burning, etc. I've done something similar while recording long live performances out in the field, where i have one laptop running Sound Forge recording the signal from the stage mixer. After each set i'll stop and save, then while recording the next set i'll transfer the files to the newer laptop and edit there (using a different version of Sound Forge or Vegas). This way i can have most of the performance edited and be burning CDs while it's still going on, and finish the job just minutes after the performance finishes so that i can hand the artists CDs before they've even packed up their instruments. And yes, you can have it installed on as many of your own PCs as you wish simultaneously, as long as you're only actively using it on one at a time.
