Kernel32.dll is a Windows system file. You might want to try replacing it. Try the following link for info on using Windows 98's System File Checker tool.

(If you're not using Windows 98, use Microsoft's Help and Support to search on info on restoring a system file in the OS that you're using.)

Most of the time Acid will crash attempting to detect all your installed DirectX plugins.

If you have recently installed a new DirectX-based plugin remove it and try again.

I had this problem when I tried to use a DirectX plugin that allows you to use plugins from other audio softwares (VST to DX).
