Hello, Is this the first time your're running Acid ever or has it worked before? And did you do any updates of any kind lately? Also can you give us more details about your system like, sound card type, video card type, Windows type, and CPU speed, and RAM amount. Thanks, Rockit |

Hello again You need to make sure your using Windows 98 Second Edition, Right click My Computer icon and select Properties, it should say Windows 98 Second Edition down towards the bottom, if it doesn't then thats your problem, Acid 3.0 will not run on Win 98 only second edition. If it is second edition, I would suggest you call or email Sonic Foundry tech support, and they can help you solve this problem better. You also need to be sure you have installed Direct X 8.1 from Microsoft to run Acid. You can see if it's installed by clicking Start>Run>then type "dxdiag" then press enter, this should bring up a dialog box for testing direct X. down at the bottom of the first page should be the version number of your current Direct X installed on your system, if it's not 8.0a or 8.1 go to www.microsoft.com/directx and download and install the program, then reinstall Acid and try it again. Let us know what you find out. See ya, Rockit |
