Hi, yesterday i installed the mentioned update but for some reason Acid Pro 3.0 starts up with an error message (i have used 3.0c before and did not get any errors). It says that an unknown error was found (with unknown reason) - anyone got the same problem? Greetings, Marco |

Not sure of the specific reason you may be getting that error (were there any other details to the error?) The first thing I'd try would be holding down Ctrl + Shift while opening ACID. This will reset your prefs, and will also cause ACID to not load your most recently created song on startup. Hope this helps, Joel |

First I installed Acid Pro 3 and Sound Forge Studio XP 5 per my installation CD's. Later I updated with (c) which worked okay. Then today I updated both with latest updates on top of everything and got the error message you spoke of and Sound Forge would not even open at all and further listed two readme files and two installs in the programs. So I uninstalled everything and installed ONLY the lastest updates for both Acid Pro 3 and Sound Forge...now I still get the same error message in Acid Pro after registering and Sound Forge says the same serial to activate Acid Pro 3 is invalid!! I am running XP Pro for a operating system. Any suggestions? |

Hi, I'm travelling with my laptop running AcidPro 3.0c under an clean OEM XP installation. Dare I install the update as I don't have original disks with me now. (I'm concerned about any possible need to reinstall.) Also, is this for overinstalling (or un/reinstall) ? Thanks |

Hello, Im running a clean install of XP also, and I didn't have any problems installing the update over the top of 3.0c, but it can be installed either way. But you might want to wait untill you get back to your disks, because 3.0c worked OK too. I didn't have any problems with that update. Maybe I'm just lucky. See ya, Rockit |

THNX Rockit, Glad to hear that the overinstall worked for you, gives me hope. I'm not sure if I'll install the update now. 3.0c doesn't always preview properly and there are a few minor things which the readme covered. Mmm, maybe the whim will overtake me before I return to home base. |

There's an old saying, "if it ain't broke, don't fix it." If 3.0c is getting the job done, don't install the update until you're in a position where you can be idle for a while and can go back if you need to. For what it's worth though, i installed the e update with no problems at all. But then, i wasn't having any troubles with c either. I'm running 98se. |

Thanks all, Against my better judgement, I'm leaning toward risky behavior as my 3.0c has a few minor glitches. If I have time in the next few days, I'll probably take the plunge unless others chime in with cautionary tales. Happy and safe holidays~~ |
