Hey gang!

I want to convert .ra files to .wav files. I have a bunch of these so I am looking for a batch processing utility as an ideal solution.
Your help is, AS ALWAYS, greatly appreciated
TIA

I beleive that the .ra format is Real Audio. Real Networks will not allow anyone to liscence the technology to convert back from .ra to any other format. There are no comerciall applications that will allow you to do this. However i have seen them in the past. One was called .ra to .wav. That product is no longer available because Real Networks suied the hell out of them.

Try the tool from wisecroft:
http://www.wisecroft.com

Don't know why RealNetworks has not sued them yet (maybe they have?) as they usually do. So hurry up as long as it is still available.

Do you have a sound card that will allow you play something in one program and record to another at the same time? If you do, you can record anything you can hear to S.F.

For example: With S.B. live I can select " What You hear" start record in S.F. Start play from the source. Then 'Save As"

Done Deal.

Total Recorder (http://www.highcriteria.com) is a good tool to have for stuff like this. It installs like a device driver which sits between sound apps and regular sound drivers - basically, it acts like a pipe and can record anything that passes through it on its way to your sound card. It's quite stable, cheap (less than $20), and can be bypassed for high performance multitrack apps like SAWStudio and others.

It's also got a timed record mode which I haven't played with yet, but which is supposed to let you schedule a recording of an incoming audio stream.

was that reply meant for me?

anyway: there are also "virtual soundcard-drivers" like total recorder (from www.highcriteria.com), which simply record the output of any player.
