I'm guessing you want to record from LPs to tracks on your hard drive, correct? If so, connect the line output of your mixer to the line input on your computer's sound card. You will probably need a readily available patch cable with a 1/8" stereo plug on one end and a pair of RCA plugs on the other. Open up the mixer control panel for your sound card (usually by double-clicking the yellow speaker icon in the lower right corner of the screen), and under Options, Properties, select Recording. The mixer panel now shows the available inputs. Select the Line input and set the volume slider at about halfway to start with. Now in Acid you can click the record button (the round one) and a recording dialog box appears. Adjust the output of your mixer so that the level is near the top, but never hits full scale (or you'll get distortion). Click start when you are ready to record, and stop when you're done. The song you've recorded will appear in a new track. |
