Subject:Cannot find Ozone in Soundforge new installation

I have reinstalled Soundforge 9 on my PC running Windows 7. It will not show Ozone as a VST. I have put the ozone .dll file folder in the options-preferences-VST effects, but it is not adding it.

Worked fine on previous PC.

Any ideas what I can do?

Considering that SF9 was released way before Win7 came out I'm not surprised it may not be running right and everything's okay on Win 7. What OS was on your previous computer?

Have you done a re-organize of your favorites (don't have my old SF machine booted at the moment)? Go looking through there and you'll find or should find Ozone. I find that when used to do a re-organize some manufacturer's effects would show up in folders you wouldn't expect them, and sometimes in multiple folders.

Are you talking about the standalone Ozone or the Ozone Mastering Effects Bundle that came with SF9? And if the standalone Ozone - did you install the vst version?

Thanks for the reply. Previous PC was also Windows 7, so should not be an issue there, it was working fine.

I don't find Ozone anywhere in the Favourites. I have stand-alone Ozone, but also the Ozone bundle that came with SF is also not there. The Ozone I installed is definitely the VST version - in fact, I can use it within my DAW (Sonar X1), just not from within SF.

Look for the individual components of Ozone. I know regular Ozone doesn't expose the plugs individually like Ozone Advanced does but maybe Sony is doing something different in SF? And if I remember, the Mastering Effects Bundle also shows the plugs separately. I often used the eq on stuff.

Have you set-up "Options> Preferences> VST Effects> Alternate VST search folder-1"

I don't know if it makes a difference but most VST plugs are normally deposited in the main 'Program Files' folder with sub-folder file name starting w/ "VST".
