I am a die hard Acid lover and pray for the days when the ACID GODS recreate the program to suit all of our midi needs. However, for the moment I am trying to midi up my Korg Trinity Pro-x to work in Acid Pro 3.0. I have a midiman delta 1010. Do I need and external midi interface device? Question #2 -I also have Sonar XL which I have no idea how to use and because I am having problems using Sonar... I am considering Logic... thinking maybe it will be easier to use then Sonar... what do YOU think? |

All you should need are MIDI cables; one for MIDI input and one for MIDI output. Your Korg has MIDI ports, correct? I mean, a keyboard without MIDI capability is like peanut butter without the jelly. :) As an example, I setup MIDI with my keyboard by connecting MIDI OUT of the keyboard to MIDI IN on my Audiophile 2496 with a standard MIDI cable. I then take the MIDI OUT on the Audiophile and connect that to the MIDI IN on my keyboard with another MIDI cable. I can't help with Sonar XL, as I don't have the program. The same applies to Logic. Sorry. The Delta 1010 is sweet. I'm jealous. :) HTH, Iacobus |

Sonar is a great program (IMHO) but it is complex because it does a lot of stuff. Audio recording, multi tracking, live effects, full midi recording and editing, plus softsynths.... so it is not easy to use. There are forums around where you can ask your Sonar questions and get help. Also, the program is soooo complex, it might not hurt to read the manual (I know nobody does that anymore) but you will be amazed at the power in Sonar. Everyone has their own work styles, I know a lot of people who prefer Cubase or N-tracks to Sonar, but I like it... but, steep learning curve. Take Care |

Also i personally think that Logic has a much steeper learning curve than Sonar. However Logic is a very powerfull application. I would probably stick with Sonar. |

Go here and click on product.sonar. There is a lot of good info there. For what it's worth, Sonar is easier to use than Logic and just as powerfull. Plus Sonar supports "acidized" loops. http://www.cakewalk.com/Support/newsgroups.html |
