Subject:Please Help: All Softsynths being Triggered

Been using Acid Pro 7 for years. Just started using Massive and Kontakt with it. I'm using separate instances for each track and have selected all different midi channels. Still, all synths are being triggered for one or more tracks! I would appreciate any reply, thank you.

Usually, it's something to do with user error; I do it all the time.

Make sure each track is routed to each VSTi properly. By default, different instances of the same VSTi are labled the same in the Mixing Console (at the bottom). You can re-label these by double-clicking them and typing in a new title.

You can then easily distinguish which VSTi is which when you go to route the MIDI track to that specific VSTi by clicking the MIDI output button in the track listing.

Thank you! Took your advice and labeled them.

But I think had everything correct in MIDI output. Until just now, I did not notice the button to the left of that (MIDI input)! All tracks were set to Auto Input. Would that have screwed up my playback? I set Input to the correct channels and its working fine so far...

Ah, is this while you're playing in real-time (like with a MIDI keyboard)? That would definitely do it. I was thinking more like post, like just during playback.

Na u were right at first... the problem was indeed during recorded midi playback. it seems to be playing back fine after I tweaked MIDI input. But now I can't play real-time on midi keyboard on those tracks. but the virtual keyboard does work and trigger the right sounds. ugh, I'll post more specifics later.
