Subject:Is is really impossible? Recording Midi from Keyboard in Forge since having problems in ACID. PLEASE HELP!

I have a midiman delta 1010I was unable to record midi in Acid from my keyboard,(Korg Trinity Pro-X), ... so I moved over to Sound Forge XP Studio 5.0 and I tried following the instructions in help. For the life of me I could not find Midi/input Sync trigger under options or preferences. What is the deal... does it really have to be this difficult to get midi going?
How can I record Midi in Sound Forge or Acid?
PLEASE HELP

Magic,

Are you simply wanting to record the audio output or a MIDI device to a WAV file? Or are you wanting to record MIDI data from a device? If it's the latter, neither Sound Forge or Acid will suit your needs. That's more a Cakewalk job. However, if you're wanting to record the audio output, follow these steps (I've not used a MIDIMAN Delta before, so I'll make this very generic):

1. Open Sound Forge.
2. Open a new file.
3. Double-click on the little yellow speaker in the lower-right-hand corner of your taskbar.
4. Click the "Options" menu, and select "Properties".
5. Click the "Recording" radio button.
6. In the listbox below, look to make sure "MIDI" (or similar) is checked.
7. Click "OK".
8. Look for the "MIDI" fader, and check the "select" box beneath it.
9. Begin recording data in SF, and hit play on you machine.

That process is for recording audio output from an internal MIDI device. For an external keyboard, just run a patch cord from the device's line out to your sound card's line in. Then select the "Line-In" on your sound card using a similar process like the above. But again, if you're trying to record MIDI data into MIDI files, neither Sound Forge nor Acid are for you. Acid only plays back MIDI files and can be triggered by MIDI devices. Sound Forge can only be triggered. Neither record MIDI.

Hope this helps,
Nick LaMartina
