Subject:Save/Open failures for wav files

Is there a work around for the:

"An error occurred during the current operation. The file could not be opened. Make sure the file exists and that you have access to the file/folder."

Details: "The file C:\Music\Projects\2010\r&d\alvin_quant2.wav could not be opened."

If I close and restart Sound Forge I will be able to open the file fine. After using SF for a few minutes it cannot save/open any files. I have tried 16 and 24 bit wav files. Again this is win 7 64 bit on SF 10.0b.

In your preferences--> General tab, do you have "Hide New Temporary Files" checked? If so, uncheck it. You can check "Delete Temporary Files on Close" if you don't have it checked already.

Make sure you have SF closed and go to your temp folder (listed at the bottom of that general tab in preferences). Clear out any files that are sitting in that temp folder. Try re-opening the file.

This did not work. My work flow is really hurt with this bug. :(
I'm going to continue looking for more specific repro steps.

BTW, you can still save files when this occurs, it just tells you it can't...

Opening is a negative...

One must install and run Sound Forge as Administrator in Windows.
Existing antivirus software can cause the same message.
Check to be sure the file is where it actually says it is.

I'm on my only user which is an admin, but not the "Administrator" account. I also use the "AS admin" option when installing anything.

I don't always run as admin though, I'll try that and see it continues to be an issue.

I use Microsoft Security Essentials for antivirus, and never had any issues, but I'll try turning that off as well.
