Hi there, I was wondering what the most ideal recording setup is. Ie., Important to have top notch sound card? Microphone? Etc...I'm just learning and will be creating meditation CDs so naturally I'd like the to be of highest quality. I want to make sure I have the best setup for this. Thank you! Michelle |

Sound Forge is NOT a recording program. You need a proper one like Sonar. Jack |

Sound Forge is an excellent two-track recorder. It is not a multitrack DAW. Hope that clears it up. |

As MV stated, SF can record but it's NOT a multi-track recorder, (not to be confused with multi-channel) so if you need to 'overdub', you would need a different application like Vegas, Acid, Reaper, Sonar, PTs, or even the free Audacity. At least a semi pro sound card should be installed. as well as a pro mic and pre-amp. However there are USB microphones that sound decent and would address all those issues. In fact, this months (April 2013) 'Electronic Musician' magazine has a review of six USB mics. |

I was gonna say, i've made a ton of money recording hundreds of hours of material with Sound Forge. It always seemed to me like it was recording quite nicely. Maybe i should go back and listen to some of those CDs i've produced and see if there's any thing on them. |

Kelly: You sure didn't do any multi-track recording with SF. Maybe narration/spoken word but music? Doubt it. Jack |

Almost everything i record is live performances, which are almost entirely music. I use Sound Forge almost exclusively. |
