Hi folks,
Looking to understand what is going wrong here:
I have a project that uses 24 bit Apple Pro Res 4444 MOV files as source material.
I'm running the project as a 32 bit video level colorspace in order to retain all information.
I'm building a DCP for cinema projection, and the first step of that is to output 32 bit DPX or TIF image files.
No matter what file format I choose (even JPG), there's a massive difference in viewing the image file to the program content in Vegas - all the images are as if someone had turned the brightness up times 2. But if I use Video Preview's save screenshot button, the brightness and colours are fine.
Further, if I change the project to an 8 bit colourspace, then the image sequences are fine.
What am I doing wrong here? Or do I have the wrong expectation? I'm working under the assumption that like Adobe Photoshop, if I'm working in a 32 bit project, outputting a 32 bit file will yield me identical results to what I see on screen.
I'm working in VP11. I've tried a short sequence in VP12 (VP12 crashes on this project so I can't use it at length) and it is identical, even though it allows you to choose custom colourspace settings in the output.
Ent.
(PS: Sorry for 2 questions in as many days!)
