I sent in this question over a month ago regarding the get media tab in Acid Pro 7 after I had installed Windows 8. Here was the question I asked: Hi Guys More tech questions for you. I can no longer go to the get media tab since I installed Windows 8 pro 64x it's asking me to re-register yet clearly on the startup screen it is registered. I hope either there is a new version 64x on its way or that your company is scrapping Acid Pro altogether because the lack of updates and keeping with the times in Acid Pro is ridiculous. also I tried uploading 2 jpegs - none of which would work. Here was the response: Hello: Thank you for contacting Sony Creative Software. We apologize for the lengthy response time to your technical support inquiry. We have been experiencing an increase in support demands from new product launches and we have fallen a bit behind on service requests. They tried to tell me there were product updates - Haha!!! AP7 received its last update in February 2010. This isn't the first question I've sent tech support. They clearly don't read their emails very well. Since that time - January 12th 2013 when I sent the email I obviously figured out that the problem for some reason was with my old tower when I migrated from Windows 7 to Windows 8 and under a clean wipe and reinstall the get media feature still works although it hasn't seen any new content since September 2012. SCS - it's time to sell Acid Pro, or discontinue Acid Pro, or sell it to Apple (which there are rumours floating on the net about that) That's my rant! |

SCS tech has been nothing but helpful to me (despite being a little slow sometimes). /shrug Let's say SCS did sell ACID Pro off to someone like Apple (which would make it practically exclusive to the Mac platform). That leaves a gaping hole for musicians that work on the Windows platform that use their other products (like Sound Forge Pro, which, to my knowledge, is still on Windows). |
