Check my spec for the other details....
I am giving VP12 one last shot. My plan here is to:
1. Reformat C: drive
2. Re-install MS Windows 7 with all the recommended updates
3. Install latest video driver
4. Install Sony Vegas Pro 12
4a. Test
5. Install NewBlue Titler Pro V1
5a. Test
6. Install NewBlue Video Essentials II
6a. Test
7. Install Boris BCC 8.1
7a. Test
8. Continue to install other applications and after each application install run Vegas through a battery of tests. ( i.e. timeline playback, rendering, 3rd party Plugins functionality, etc.) and log my findings in this thread.5.
Note: If there were lemon laws for software.... Sony Creative Software would be out of business!
--------------------------------------------
Ok here we go..... I am inputing this via my MAC, because my PC is now unavailable.
Sunday 2/24/13
- I have completely reformatted my drive.
- I have re-installed Windows and installed the 5 zillion updates. To include
Service pack 1 and I.E. 9 browser.
Note: I am under the impression that all the recommended updates are safe for
sony Vegas, if not then it sounds like someone at Sony needs to do their
homework... How am I supposed to know?
- Reboot
- Installed the latest video driver for my NVidia GTX 460 video card. V314.07
- Reboot
- Sony Vegas is installed. BUILD x486
- Battery Tests...
- No EULA window issue, I was having the annoying pop-up on prior installs.
So, something in my choice of applications is causing that.
- One of movie clips I am using as a test is a .MOV file so I need to install
Quicktime.
- Closing Sony Vegas
- Installing Quicktime as recommended by Sony Vegas. V7.73.80.64
- Reboot
-Resuming Battery test
- Timeline playback, 1920x1080 .mov layer, animated background, a text overlay @ Full Preview setting - Passed
- Render MP4 - 1920x1080 60i, 25second clip in 2:20min, acceptable for .mp4.
- 3rd party FX not installed yet
- Installed NewBlue TitlePro that comes VP12. V 12105.exe
( I read somewhere that V 12106 might be the latest version, I'll check later)
TO BE CONTINUED....
