Hi, doing some 16th note step sequencing with my controller and cannot find how to add a rest at say the 3rd note then continue playing. The one print mannual I have, Acid Pro 7 Quick Start Manual, does not mention. Ill look through the other PDF's as well.

Thanks

Since ACID Pro obeys time when it plays back, you can't pause the time; you would have to find a way to do this via the MIDI note itself.

For example: If I insert a fermata over a note in Finale, all Finale does is play the note a little longer than what is required. If I converted this into MIDI, the event would simply be drawn a little longer on the timeline. So you would have to do the same.

As long as the track view has the focus you can use the right arrow to insert a rest for the step note size.

Another option would be to use the highest key note for your "rests" and then delete them when you are done.

The right arrow works thanks. I found I have to draw out the MIDI event first and then start step sequencing as opposed to just starting and the MIDI event forms as you play notes which is what Im used to doing.

Ah, step sequencing.

I am such a derp sometimes. Read the post with real-time sequencing in mind. (That's what I get for rushing through...) xD
