When I save an existing MP3 files in SF the file is always stored in format 256kbits even though the original file format I use is 128kbits. Is there any way to get SF to save my 128kbit files in the same format? If I use "save as" i can get the files saved in 128 but just "save" always comes up as 256. Thanks for any help? |

Oversampling does no harm. Saving lossy->lossy does do harm. Message last edited on2/21/2013 11:09:22 PM bymusicvid10. |

Assuming the 'Save as type' is set MP3, the "Save as> Custom Tab" opens a window with lots of parameter choices. You can select a preset or save your own. Yes as 'MV' stated "Saving lossy->lossy does do harm". Every time an MP3 is re-encoded (saved) regardless of the parameter settings, quality is reduced to an extent and should be avoided until the final render. Working in an uncompressed loss-less format (Wave or AIFF) prior to that is SOP. |
