I have an interesting problem with my SONY Plug-In module settings moving when changing Plug-In window views. EXAMPLE: Say I have a few SONY Plug-In modules in a chain and I place my cursor in an control area that would allow me to type in a setting and then I move to another Plug-In view and back again, the setting of the Plug-In where my cursor was last placed will have moved all the way to the far left (lowest value). Now… If I do the same thing but leave the cursor on the slider control instead of the area where you can type in the setting, everything stays OK when I switch from one Plug-In view to another. This has only been a problem since version 10.0 and only happens with Sony Plug-Ins such as the ones found in Noise Reduction 2.0. IAnyone else with the same problem? I have tried installing the program on other machines with the same results. I am using the latest version. Sony support keeps telling to perform a clean update to the latest version (doesn’t help). Any help is appreciated. Message last edited on5/11/2012 9:38:02 AM byDave W. |

Doesn't do this for me. At a lost to explain how this would happen. Mouse driver possibly (if anything other than native). Tryt uninstallin the mouse from Device Manager, then rebooting to effectively reinstall the driver. There is another problem (probably unrelated) in that if you have X-Mouse emulation from the TweakUI extensions on XP, while window focus follows the cursor, the wheel gets left behind on the previous window/control Not sure if the native Win7 X-Mouse functionality suffers from this. geoff Message last edited on5/10/2012 9:45:22 PM byGeoff_Wood. |

Hi Geoff and THANKS for the reply. I will try looking into the mouse driver, but I fear it won't help because I installed the program on my laptop as well as my studio machine and they both do the same thing (weird). However... you never know. I can live with it as long as I remember to never adjust settings by typing in the value or leaving my cursor in the area where you can do this when switching plug-in views. I have gotten into the habit of using the sliders only. This issue really was a problem for me when I didn't fully realize what was going on. It seemed that my settings were changing all over the place for no reason when I navigated from one plug-in to another. It was frustrating. At least I understand what it is doing and can work around it, but I would love to fix it. |

I'm not sure I follow you, but everything seems to work on my Vista PC. I'll try with my studio XP PC later. For instance if I type in a frequency in Track EQ then go to Wave Hammer and type in a compression ratio value, both factors stay where I set them. |

Hi rraud, Yes… please try this and let me know what happens. For instance; create a chain with Track EQ and Wave Hammer. Go to Track EQ place your curser in the box where the frequency is displayed (my first frequency is set by default at 100Hz). You don’t even need to type in a setting change, just leave the cursor flashing there. Now… go to Wave Hammer and simply go back to Track EQ (no need to make any setting changes in Wave Hammer). When I go back to Track EQ, my frequency setting has now moved to 20Hz! This will happen to any setting that has a box where a value can be typed in. As long as the cursor was left in the box when exiting the plug-in, that setting will move to the lowest value every time you return. Weird! Like I mentioned though, this only happen with Sony plug-ins. If I do the same thing using another brand of plug-in (like iZotope as an example) everything is OK. I appreciate all the help and you time! |

Thank you for finding this and pointing it out to us. I'm also reproducing this behavior on a win7 machine here in our offices. I went ahead and bugged this behavior and it's been submitted to be addressed in an upcoming release. Message last edited on5/11/2012 3:48:57 PM bySonySQAPete. |

Thank You for looking into my issue! I am actually pleased to hear that you were able to simulate the same problem. I don't mind that the bug exists, as long as I am not the only one that has it. I will sit tight until you folks can correct the problem. I am also very pleased that Sony did not sweep it under the rug like many software makers do (assuming it is the user’s problem). I am a firm believer that we are all in this together and teamwork just simply makes for a better product. I use many Sony Creative Software solutions and enjoy working with them. Thank You again for looking into this and I look forward to the new version. |

It would be nice to think that it might be addressed. Unfortunately since a bug I reported in May 2011 -- and which Sony also reproduced and logged -- still hasn't been fixed, you might need to wait a while longer for a bug from 2012! :-/ I would be pleasantly surprised if we got any free bugfixes to SF10 at all at this point (assuming the program hasn't been discontinued altogether). |

Oh Man... that really takes the wind out of my sails. Why is the lack of support so common amongst software makers? I see that Sony has been busy with the release of SF-10 for Mac, but it would be nice if they paid some attention to the back end of products that they have already sold. Like you... I get pleasantly surprised when a technical support issue is address promptly and professionally . It does flip the other way was as well. I may just move on, or re-install SF-8 and be happy (as it was the last version that I felt was solid). |

I just downloaded the latest update to SoundForge Pro 10 and Noise Reduction 2.0 in hopes that this problem was resolved, but NOPE! Not ONE bug fix! Message last edited on2/8/2013 5:19:55 PM byDave W. |

Yep, the only change in the new version is Windows 8 compatibility. Not one bug fix! |

I wonder if this has been fixed in version 11. I refuse to buy it due to the lack of Sony's interested in fixing existing versions while they work on selling new versions. I refuse to keep throwing money toward buggy software that never gets fixed. I think the final build / version of SF-8 was the only one that I ever found worked flawlessly. Who knows what lies ahead for everybody in 11. I think I may be done with SF. |
