Has anyone heard if they are discontinuing this feature for Pro users? I finally had to send a support request since I could not find anything and I was getting annoyed.

I'm assuming I'm not the only person who noticed this? The same thing happened back in January 2012.

Hey...
Unfortunately there is no rhyme or reason for when get media is updated. It's not every month... It's pretty random.
There is a lot of discussion as to whether Acid Pro as a platform is dead. Acid Music studio lives on. But there has been no development on Acid Pro since February 2010.
Anyone who has upgraded from Windows 7 to Windows 8 may find that the get media feature does not work after the upgrade and that it asks you to re-register your software - even though it clearly starts up with the splash screen with your registration info - and the rest of the program works...

That's all I can tell you from my experience.

Get Media works on my Windows 8, but yeah, nothing new since September.

Did you migrate from Windows 7 or do a complete Windows 8 upgrade?

Interesting. I was running Win 7 64x Home Edition on my Acer Tower and bought the Upgrade Win 8 Pro disc and my get media feature kept asking me to register my software. Glad you had better luck with it.
New Tower time shortly - I guess with a fresh install on a new system all will be as well as one could hope to be...

Hey,

I figured something like that was going on. I even e-mailed Mike but no response. I tried under ACID Pro v4 and v7 and the same thing.

Makes me wonder when SONY will make the announcement already if they are continuing or what. Yes, I did notice the updates are very old considering they usually have several updates then a "new" version comes out.

I like using ACID but if and when I upgrade to Windows 7 I wonder if all the plug-ins will be working properly under the 64bit OS.

Do you mean upgrading to Windows 8 or Windows 7?
If you are just upgrading to Windows 7 there will be no problems with Acid Pro 7.
Seeing as Windows 8 wasn't a consideration when Acid Pro 7 was written I am not surprised their are bugs. I found it rather comical that SCS changed their system requirements to include Windows 8 when neither Acid Pro 7 or Sound Forge Pro 10 were written for Windows 8. Windows 8 wasn't even thought of in 2010 on the consumer end. Sound Forge Pro has had an update in 2012 - not a significant update but an update none the less, where as Acid Pro has been dormant 3 years this coming month.

It would be lovely if Acid Pro was going to see an update to V8 on the 3rd year anniversary (february 2010) of non-activity!

Hi 519tbarr,

Yes, I meant Windows 7 - 64bit. The system I'm putting together will have Xeon processors but I thought I remember reading somewhere on the Vegas forum that some of the 32bit plug-ins have yet to be updated to the 64bit version. Considering Vegas 12 is 64bit only, I wonder when that will be.

I was just mentioning it since I hope ACID is not dead but it has been a long time since they updated it and the Get Media thing is driving me crazy but I guess it is "free" so I should not complain.
