Subject:sound forge 5.0e windows xp

I get wavy sounding recordings using 24 bit depth. I use a motu 2408 sound card, updated with xp drivers. I have updated to sound forge 5.0e for xp. Sound Forge works ok at 16 bit. The other programs work ok -sonar (cakewalk)at 24 bit. Any ideas.
