I just installed Acid Pro on my Windows 98SE computer and when I play back I hear all these little pops or breaks in the audio. What do I need to adjust. |

Try adjusting the "Playback buffering" setting on the "Audio" tab under "Options>Preferences" on the menu bar. Quality of the soundcard could be an issue. I used to use a Soundblaster Live!, but scrapped it in favor of the M-Audio Audiophile 2496. I used to have problems such as glitching and such with the SB Live!, but that doesn't seem to be an issue thus far with the Audiophile. Comparitive cards such as Echo's Mia would probably produce the same results. Soundcards that share IRQ's with other cards can also cause problems, whether we're talking about Soundblaster cards or not. Be sure that your soundcard has its own IRQ. I would also say that optimization of your system has a lot to do with performance. Try things like using ScanDisk and Disk Defragmenter on at least a bi-weekly basis. Try also to not have programs running in the background, which can adversely affect ACID's performance. HTH, Iacobus |
