Posted this last week and got no responses. Just checking one last time... After installing Waves NPP1 the SoundForge Direct-X menu is chock full of crap - all the waves plugs (including those I haven't paid for) plus copies of all SF "ExpressFX" plugs (I assume these came from Vegas Video). Is there any way to clean this up or otherwise organize these menus? I'd like to at least get rid of the Direct-X(1) menu. |

The real answer is NO. There is no way to organize the plugins in Sound Forge. I found a way to get rid of the Express plugs in the past, because I had a similar situation. I believe these plugins are located in the "SF Shared Plugins/Audio" folder. You can move these files...I forget their names but should have a brief description in their title easy enough to figure out...something like **ExpFX1.asf. Move these out of this folder and then open sound forge. Now attempt to use the Express FX. Sound Forge will tell you that this FX cannot be found and will offer to unregister the plugin. Do that, and you successfully unregister the plugin. I made a post in the past in this forum which outlines this process in detail, if you do a search on "Express FX's". Good luck, Brian Franz |

Brian and Leary, There's an easier and safer way to accomplish what you're trying to do. AnalogX makes a nifty little program called DXMan, which allows you to scour through a list of all your DX plugins, find out their screen and file names, and the settings included. Most importantly, it lets you remove the uneccesary ones with a simple click of the "remove" key. Find it here: http://www.analogx.com/contents/download/audio/dxman.htm It's freeware, by the way. Hope this helps, Nick LaMartina |

Nick Is that the same as DX-uninstaller? http://webperso.alma-net.net/burel Its very cool I use it in Win98 and Win2k You click on the icon and it gives you a drop down menu of all of your DX plugins. You click on the plugins that you want to remove and its gone! I hope this helps. George Ware |
