Problem with silent playback of MIDI recording -ACID Product Family

Subject:Problem with silent playback of MIDI recording Posted by: Davyd M Date:1/12/2013 5:16:02 AM Hi everyone, I'm new to Acid Pro, which looks like a great program. I've been trying to record bits of music by using my iPad as a MIDI keyboard to control the soft synth (via the AK 7 Core app and rtpMIDI on my PC. When I record to a MIDI track, I hear what I'm playing and the track records levels. In fact when I try to playback the MIDI recording the levels are constantly moving up and down, but all I hear is silence! I've found that it is possible to record whatever I'm playing on the MIDI keyboard to an audio track, and then it plays back fine. But I get the feeling that this isn't the solution, and there must be something I should be doing differently with the MIDI track. Can anyone please help?
Subject:RE: Problem with silent playback of MIDI recording Reply by: D7K Date:1/12/2013 10:44:30 AM David - I'm new also, but once you are done recording the Midi data you do uncheck the edit midi data correct? I've not done that and had the track not play.

That's how I got the little on-screen keyboard to appear, which my iPad controls. Or did you mean something else? Actually, yesterday I got it to work, but I'm not sure what I did differently....

However, I did get it to work yesterday, and I don't think I did that step you mention. Thanks to both of you for your replies, by the way.
