Subject:Missing Plug-ins

For years, I had been using a version of Sony ACID 5. I bought version 7.0 recently, and I realized none of the effects plug-ins are working, this includes basic track EQ capabilities. In the track FX folder, all the familiar effects are listed, along with the 3 new folders: failed, ignored, unavailable. All it says when I attempt to add an effect to a track:

The plug-in could not be run. One or more components required to run this plug-in may be missing. If a hardware key (dongle) is required to operate this plug-in, ensure that it is properly installed. The COM object failed to initialize."

I tried searching out an answer online first, but to no avail. All I can tell you is that my program files/sonyacid7/plug-ins/audio folder contains 6 .dll files. They are: sfacidfx; sfppack1, 2, and 3; sfresfileter; and sftrkfx1.

Please help! I called Sony's customer service number, and they are not available for calls. I sent an inquiry via email about a week ago and no response.
Thanks,
Zack

Did you try the update to ACID Pro? (You can completely uninstall and reinstall using just this update--which can act as the full version provided you have your serial key handy.)

If that doesn't work, try purging the plugin cache. Exit ACID Pro if it's open. Using Windows Explorer, browse to the root of your hard drive > Users > <username> > AppData > Local > Sony > ACID Pro > 7.0. (Note this is under Windows Vista; might be slightly different depending on OS. You might also have to reveal any hidden folders using the Organize button on the menu bar in Explorer > Folder and Search Options > View tab.)

Delete the file, "acidpro.plugincache.xml." Note this will completely wipe out any VST settings you had, including 3rd-party plug-in locations; you'll have to go back into ACID's Plug-In Manager to re-add them.

I could kiss you, lacobus! Thank you. Reinstalling ACID with the update worked perfectly! I'm reinstated.
