Hi, I'm very new to using ACID Music Studio 8. I've put an imported CD track into the timeline. I then arm and start to record it. When I stop and play back the clip it sounds a bit muted compared to the original track that starts to play at the end of the clip in the timeline. Any ideas anyone. |

Welcome to the wonderful world of mixing and engineering. :) The quality of the recording all depends on the hardware used to record it with (i.e., your audio interface) plus how the track was recorded (e.g., direct to your computer, via a mic, etc.). You'll want to record as hot as possible without clipping. The audio interface used usually has a software mixer that allows you to adjust the input for recording. Check there. Adding to that, there is a cut at the track level (based on what the Preview fader is set at in the Mixing Console). Set it to unity (0.0 dB) if you want to hear this track at the original volume no matter what the content. Double-click on the volume handle. |

Hello there, Thanks for the reply, I used the onboard sound card in the PC, but I do have a Lexicon Omega Studio USB Audio Interface unit. Should be using that instead, quite new to all this. I thought your Unforgiven (Servants of Twilight Version) was really nice. Is the original version by Blood On The Dance Floor a lot different? Does that duo make a lot of that type of music? Cheers. Peter. |

It's not *too* different; same structure as the original song (if I recall), just mangled a bit differently. They make songs in that vein, yes. |
