Subject:cant get a recording of my mini disc

Whenever I try to put some stuff from my mini disc onto my comp, its as if sound forge won't acknowladge that there is anything connected. I don't know what to do. I am using the sound card that came with my comp its a compaq 5716 if that helps at all.

Assuming your trying to record using the MDs analouge outs. In SF go to Options/Preferences/Wave and make sure the correct sound card is selected for recording and playback. If that is selected properly and you still get nothing. Double click your volume control icon on the task bar go to Options/Properties, select "Recording" and make sure the "line" box is check marked. click OK then you should get a record volume control which you can adjust.
